Roanoke is situated on the edge of Exmoor about 7 miles north of the ancient market town of Barnstaple, North Devon, home of the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway .
Roanoke is a family run concern, with it's founder having over 40 years experience in model making, both steam and diesel. The name Roanoke is taken from a town in Virginia, USA where the Norfolk & Western Locomotive works was based.
Business is carried out from a modern Industrial unit situated on the outskirts of Bratton Fleming village, equipped with both traditional and C.N.C machinery with the ability to build all classes of locomotive to small 2' gauge and up to 6" scale Traction Engines, as well as a machining service for parts, up to full size, for both private and commercial use.
As well as steam Locomotives built to order, we also offer a range of passenger wagons, diesel and petrol hydrostatic Locomotives to our own design, which are constantly being added to.
We are always willing to discuss customer requirements on the telephone, or in person, if you would like to arrange a visit to our premises.
We also undertake industrial model making, restoration work and one offs and offer a full machining service.
